Construction professionals in Hong Kong face unique safety challenges in dense urban environments, where a single incident can compromise worker well-being and jeopardise project progress. Construction sites demand solutions that work as hard as the construction workers do — not just monitoring but actively protecting the team and investment. While current monitoring systems may meet basic requirements, they're often reactive rather than preventive, leaving many projects vulnerable to costly delays and safety incidents. Emerging AI technologies also face bottleneck in optimising operation without robust, high-bandwidth, secure and ultra-low latency wireless connectivity.
A pilot project to explore the feasibility and effectiveness of AI-powered solutions with a dedicated network addressing these potential challenges in most construction sites was conducted in a landfill site.
By deploying Karta-X's AI vision with NTT's high-performance Private 5G (P5G) at the site, the operator gains unprecedented control over site safety.
